What Sizzles for Spring and Summer?
Silver Jewelry was the star on the fashion runways for Spring / Summer 2021. Strong showings of stackable necklaces, link chains, new interpretations of the Pearl Necklace confirmed by our VP Kamala Harris, and statement rings worn on any finger were visible everywhere! The presence of earrings in all different shapes and sizes is all over Magazines and every form of media.
Although Silver was everywhere for spring and summer, yellow gold is “back”, and has quickly taken its spot back in jewelry production and purchases.
The overriding message to women is to wear jewelry that is YOU. Layer, mix metals, mix jewel colors, mix styles, but… wear what you love!
Freshwater Pearl Jewelry
I have to say, I am so incredibly excited about this latest line of jewelry that I have been designing, and now offering to you! I have been working with gorgeous naturally colored Freshwater pearls! They are so much more beautiful now and have taken over the spot that Akoya pearls had held. The reason for this is that Akoya pearls are salt water pearls, and the oceans are sadly becoming incredibly polluted which critically damages the health of the mollusks and beauty of the Akoya pearls. Freshwater pearls are less expensive as well as being incredibly beautiful! Please take a look at the pearl treasures I have created. You will love their beauty too!
My Scroll Work Line
I am drawn to scroll work in jewelry, and knew that I wanted to include gemstone settings, jewelry components and findings in my line. I have Items in my Garden Collection that contain scrollwork, and in my Freshwater Pearl line as well. Having a pendant or ring with just a little extra special detail in the design personalizes the item and transforms it from a piece of jewelry to a treasured accessory. The scroll in art is an element of ornamentation and graphic design featuring spirals and rolling incomplete circle motifs. Many types are plant-scrolls, which loosely represent plant forms such as vines, with leaves or flowers attached. Scrolls from simple to elaborate can be seen in fabric, banisters, picture frames, flatware , etc, and has been a design element dating back to the Bronze Age! So, I guess you can say Scroll work will always be steeped in our culture and never be out of style!
